DELRAY BEACH – Shows at a couple of venues never before mentioned in this space highlight the first week of the August South Florida comedy schedule.
Friday’s Xtreme Comedy Show headlined by Nadeem Awad will be discussed momentarily, but for the moment the focus will be on a Wednesday night show.
Jackie Sanchez headlines the debut of the Angels and Demons Comedy Showcase at Elmos Rock Bar in Boynton Beach.
It’s unclear whether Sanchez is considered an angel or demon – or both – but what is certain is that her low-key delivery entertains.
Dom Nesci, Zach Bugarin and Nico Bolling – all likely playing the demo role – are also scheduled to perform, with Corey Cognac producing the show and serving as host.
And after the show there will be an open mic.
Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Lake Worth and West Palm Beach all offer quality comedy shows each week. Now Boynton Beach is joining the comedy scene – more proof that the vibrant South Florida comedy scene continues to grow.

Dirty Laundry Comedy Tour – Wednesday, Aug. 4, Palm Beach Improv
Plenty of good choices for comedy on Wednesday. Fans looking to see comedy in the biggest possible venue can head to the Palm Beach Improv for this show. Rodney Badger headlines, with Sean Mullins, Drew Illa, John Loveless and special guest Hennessy Williams all scheduled to perform. It’s a strong blend of some of South Florida’s best young comics.
Sunshine State Comedy – Wednesday, Aug. 4. The Dubliner
Every week Gina Savage seems to compile a strong lineup in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park. This week is no different. Zach McGovern is back from New York with some new material. Lalo Rodriguez. Josh Rosen, Johnny Azari, Steve Lamm and Mariza Brussolo are also scheduled to perform. And those $5 whiskey specials generally add to the fun.

Applause Planner alluded to this show above and nearly selected it as the Pick of the Week. Back from performing a couple shows in New York City last week, Nadeem Awad (headliner) and David Sadman (feature) take the stage at this show in Margate. Fittingly, Jesse Cohen will also perform, as will Drew Illa. Brett Morris hosts this show. The free show begins at 9 p.m.
