BOCA RATON – David Sadman and Nadeem Awad are hoping the third time produces yet another charm at the Sadman Comedy Speakeasy Lounge.

Bruce Smirnoff and Richie Minervini return to the lounge on Wednesday as two of the three headliners for the show. Carl Rimi, the show’s third headliner, will be making his first appearance at the Sadman Speakeasy.

Any one of the three headliners can make for a great night. To see all three in one evening is a guaranteed first-rate show.

Smirnoff, who’s retired except for these Sadman Speakeasy shows, will be the only one of the four original headliners to have performed at all three shows. Minervini was scheduled to perform during the second show but had to beg off because of illness.

Jimmy Shubert, the closer of the first two shows, is performing in the northeast this week. Don Gavin, the fourth headliner from the original bill, is more stringent about his retirement than is Smirnoff.

Feature comic Awad will join Smirnoff in his third show at the Sadman Speakeasy, and for the third time Sadman will cover hosting duties. Local comic Steve Lamm will make his initial appearance at the Speakeasy.

Tickets are $25 and reservations are requested.

This show did have some strong competition for the Applause Planner pick of the week. National comic Ahmed Ahmed actually plays two free shows in Palm Beach County this week. Both shows have strong supporting casts.

It’s a great week to be a comedy fan in South Florida.

Applause Planner – Plan On It

Ahmed Ahmed – Monday, March 22, Tin Roof
The Tin Roof usually hosts its comedy night on the final Monday of each month, but management moved the show up a week to accommodate Ahmed. Jason Rogers is back in town for his second appearance at the Tin Roof. Dougie Almeida will also perform, with Robb Kalert hosting.

Flip Schultz – Wednesday, March 24, Palm Beach Improv
Anyone who can’t score tickets to Wednesday’s Sadman Speakeasy show should consider heading north to catch Ryan Scott’s Live Laugh Laugh Comedy Tour at the Improv. Schultz, the headliner, always entertains. Local favorite Jay Guy will feature for this show. Dan Caso and Scott are also scheduled to perform, with Stephanie Wood hosting.

Ahmed Ahmed – Thursday, March 25, The Biergarten
Awad and Sadman join Ahmed at Boca Raton’s Bieregarten for a show that’s being billed as “The Happy Habibis.” The Tin Roof shows always draw local comics, so expect surprise guests.
