Brown In Town

While not a comic by trade, the humor Alton Brown brings to his live performances make Friday's show in Coral Springs an Applause Planner pick.

DELRAY BEACH – He’s an accomplished chef, television personality and author.

Every now and then Alton Brown throws in a dash comedy.

Brown became famous in the late 1990s via his Food Network show “Good Eats.” He later became host of “Iron Chef America,” also on the Food Network, and has been one of the Food Network’s most popular personalities for more than two decades.

From time to time Brown steps out of the kitchen and the studio and hits the road. On Friday, that road leads to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.

Brown’s live shows have entertained fans across the country by blending cooking and comedy. Anyone attending the show better be prepared to be pulled on stage to help with food preparation.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are a bit pricey, starting at $52.97 and escalating to $72.94. There is also a VIP meet and greet at 6 p.m. available for an additional fee.

This isn’t the kind of show the Applause Planner generally recommends, but the quirky Brown is geekily entertaining. Plus, his recipes rock.

For anyone looking for a uniquely entertaining evening, this is the show.
