WEST PALM BEACH – Bryan Callen is one of the funniest comics in the business right now.

Don’t believe it? Ask anyone who saw his headlining performance on the first night of the Laughing Spree Festival in December. By all accounts, he killed that night.

Callen returns to South Florida this weekend for five shows at the Palm Beach Improv, beginning on Friday night.

For those unfamiliar with Callen, he’s probably best known for his recurring role as “Coach Mellor” on ABC’s “Schooled” and “The Goldbergs.” Callen has also appeared in “Kingdom,” “Two Broke Girls,” “Ride Along,” the first two “Hangover” movies and Old School.

As a comedy headliner, Callen performs in theaters and comedy venues across the world. His third one-hour comedy special, “Complicated Apes”, topped the iTunes charts in March of 2019.

Callen is also a successful podcaster. The co-host of the top-rated iTunes podcasts “The Fighter & The Kid,” as well as “Ten Minute Podcast,” Callen is also a regular on “The Joe Rogan Experience” and “Fight Companion” podcasts.

He’ll be performing two shows on Friday and two more on Saturday – 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. both nights – along with a 7 p.m. show on Sunday. Ticket prices start at $27.00.

Harding has appeared on HBO, BET, in Netflix’s movie “The Harder They Fall”, and is an Improv regular. The free show begins at 8:30 p.m. The Brass Tap features 72 beers on tap and offers $10 boneless wings with a pint. Sounds like a pretty sweet Wednesday night.

Rack N’ Breaking Balls – Rack and Balls Pub, West Palm Beach
Comedy fans looking for something a little different should rack and break this show. It’s a combination pool tournament and comedy show. South Florida comics Jeff Dolezal, Nico Prada, Alex Avila, Chris Shepard, Jesse Cohen, John Loveless and Nico Bolling are heading to Rack and Balls Pub charged with the task of heckling and otherwise distracting the tournament players. With the winning pool player potentially receiving as much as $1,000, there’s plenty on the line. It will be interesting to see whether the players crack, or the comics get cracked. The event begins at 7 p.m. Admission to the bar is free. Entering the pool tournament costs $20.

Hennessy Williams – Creole Garden, Tamarac
Looking for a more traditional Friday night comedy show? This fits the bill. Hennessy Williams headlines this Spill The Beans show produced by Fasil Malik. Williams is considered one of the most naturally talented comedians to emerge from Florida in the last decade. Born from immigrant parents, and raised in South Florida, Williams’ quiet, humble beginnings provide him with the fresh and unique perspective. Utilizing a blend of edge, wit, and likability Williams’ performances have brought laughter to countless audiences across the country. Eli Olsberg is the feature comic, with Joe Nay serving as host. Oh, and the food reviews from the Creole Garden have been overwhelmingly positive. Ticket prices are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Showtime is 8 p.m.
