DELRAY BEACH – Wednesday brings a top stand-up comedy show to a Delray Beach venue that is both familiar and intriguing.
Sadman Comedy Productions is partnering with the Movies of Delray to create a live comedy show within a traditional movie theater.
Followers of the South Florida comedy scene recognize the Movies of Delray as the theater that comics Carl Rimi, James Patterson and Chad Ridgely chose to screen their movies. Rimi returns to the theater to headline its initial stand-up comedy show. Patterson will co-feature with local favorite Nadeem Awad. Producer David Sadman serves as host.
To prepare for the night, the theater is creating a custom stage for the comics. The Movies of Delray also offers beer, wine and snacks. And attendees can enjoy their food and drink in some of the most comfortable seats available.
If the first show goes well, there are plans for more shows. Judging by early ticket sales, additional shows appear likely.
Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Applause Break will be there to bring fans the highlights.

The Have-Nots Comedy Show – Dania Improv, Dania Beach
Los Angeles-based comedian John Wynn got his comedic start in South Florida, and he’s spent the past few weeks touring the southeast. That run ends on Thursday night when he headlines this show at the Dania Improv. Dom Perezin, Carlos Hernandez and Eli Rodriguez are also scheduled to perform. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $20 for general admission, $30 for VIP.

Bret Ernst – Dania Improv, Dania Beach
Bret Ernst is another comic with South Florida roots who’s making a splash on the national scene. Ernst has a residency in Las Vegas, and boasts a recurring role as Cousin Louie on the Netflix hit “Cobra Kai.” Ernst’s shows are always entertaining. He asked local comedian Nadeem Awad to feature for him during all five of the weekend’s shows. There will be two shows on Friday and Saturday; with another on Sunday. Tickets are $22.
