DELRAY BEACH – Everything tastes better with a little it of chocolate.

At least that’s the premise of this day.

Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 is National Chocolate-Covered Anything Day. That sure sounds like a great deal of fun.

Chocolate is the universal dessert. It can be food or drink. It can be served in candy bar form, mixed with other foods like peanut butter, or baked into a cake. Chocolate turns healthy foods like fruit into a decadent treat. But why stop there? Dec. 16 is National Chocolate-Covered ANYTHING Day. South Florida comics are into it.

In the above video Chad Ridgely, Phil Isme, Nadeem Awad, Tim Hanlon, Bernie Sanders (as portrayed by Josh Rosen) and Greg Hahn discuss National Chocolate-Covered Anything Day, letting everyone know what to dip – and what not to dip – in chocolate. To their credit, the comics kept their answers fairly clean. And for the record, Hahn is an absolute madman.

It’s hard to imagine a world without chocolate. It’s consumption predates the birth of Christ by nearly two millennia. (By the way, his birthday is right around the corner. Follow the Amazon link below for some last minute shopping.)

How did National Chocolate-Covered Anything Day come into existence? No one really seems to know. Congress didn’t actually pass a proclamation creating the day. Most likely, someone in the candy or baking industry created the day as part of a marketing campaign, But, hey, what’s wrong with a little marketing? Not that chocolate actually needs it.

Celebrating National Chocolate-Covered Anything Day seems pretty straightforward: cover something in Chocolate. We’re more than happy to do that. Over and over again. Those fond of taking photos of their food can post them on social media along with the hashtag #ChocolateCoveredAnythingDay.
