DELRAY BEACH – Comics flocking to South Florida in search of stage time proved to be one of the few positives generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Two such comics, Matt Bellak and Tim Hanlon, spent the better part of a couple years down here waiting for the nation to re-open. In doing so, they became regular headliners at area shows.
But it couldn’t last forever.
The duo relocated to Texas a couple months back. South Florida’s loss has been Austin’s gain.
Bellak and Hanlon aren’t about to forget their South Florida comedy ties, however. The duo is bringing their Dope City Comedy Tour to the Palm Beach Improv on Thursday for one show – and it figures to be a good one.
Real Estate agent by day, comic by night, Jimmy Clifford has been touring with the Dope Duo of late and will be the opener on Thursday.
Catching this triple threat? Sounds like a great way to spend a Thursday. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $20.

Pam Bruno – The Biergarten, Boca Raton
Comedy fans looking for something a little further south on Thursday have the option of seeing Pam Bruno at the Biergarten. These twice-monthly shows have become a staple of the South Florida comedy scene. Local favorite Nadeem Awad is among the feature comics. Jim Patterson, Matt Rivera and Nick Simmons are also scheduled to perform, with David Sadman serving as host. The free show begins at 8 p.m.

Jimmy Shubert – Palm Beach Kennel Club
Shubert is another comic who relocated to South Florida during the pandemic. The veteran comic who had a recurring role on “King of Queens” has performed all over the world. Now he’s hitting the track. Stephanie Wood is scheduled to feature for Shubert. Ticket prices for the 8 p.m. show start at $20.
