DELRAY BEACH – The Pompano Beach Brewing Company isn’t what it used to be.
When it comes to comedy shows, it’s better.
Months ago the shows were held outside and were subject to fickle weather and noise distractions. Then the shows stopped altogether.
During that time off, the venue added an indoor stage and solid sound system.
Now the Charly Esturilho-produced shows are back, and they’ve been pretty good.
The next one is Friday and the lineup offers a little bit for everyone.
Matt Durndak is back from Los Angeles and will headline. Females especially respond to Brittany Brave’ sets. On any given night Vital Dieujuste has the potential to be the funniest comic on the stage. Besides producing the show, Esturilho with also perform. And Brian Coronado will host.
Catch the 8 p.m. show and try some craft beers. The Applause Planner is particularly fond of the milk stout.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 16
Comedy Show – Blue Jean Blues, Fort Lauderdale
Jay Guy is venturing outside the walls of an Improv to perform. That rarity alone is worth the trip. James Patterson, Nileja, Wynton Francis, Brian Coronado, Elgin David, Shira Weitz and Nico Prada are also scheduled to perform, with Nik Macik serving as host. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are free when reserved on Eventbrite.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 16-SUNDAY DECEMBER 19
Damon Wayans – Dania Improv, Dania Beach
A few months ago Marlon Wayans opened the brand new Dania Improv. Now brother Damon gets his shot on the new stage. Damon Wayans came to national fame on “In Living Color” where he created sketch characters like Homey the Clown, Handiman, and Blaine from Men on Film. He’s playing one show on Thursday, two on both Friday and Saturday, and one more on Sunday. Ticket prices begin at $40.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18
Ron White – Seminole Hard Rock, Hollywood
White packed the Palm Beach Improv a few months back. Now Tater Salad returns to South Florida to perform at the Hard Rock on his 65th birthday. White gained national fame as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. He’s one of the comedy world’s heaviest hitters. Had he not been the Applause Planner pick of the week the first time around, this would be the top show. Catch this show if at all possible. Ticket prices begin at $51.
