BOCA RATON – Sadman Comedy Productions is altering formats for this Thursday’s Biergarten show.

The twice-monthly show usually features a big-name headliner supported by a few local South Florida comics.

This show, however, will be more of a showcase, packing several local comics onto one stage.

Chris Flanagan is being billed as the headliner on this night. Other feature comics include Lalo Rodriguez, Jim Patterson, Shannon Pfieffer, Cindi-Ann Boisson and Mike Cintron.

The 2011 winner of the South Beach Comedy Festival, Flanagan is a veteran of comedy festivals across the nation, and in 2012 he was named “Official Comedian of the Miami Dolphins.”

David Sadman remains the host of this show, which always seems to offer one surprise guest addition to the lineup.

Comedy fans new to the area looking for a taste of the South Florida scene should consider this show.

It’s free and begins at 8 p.m.

The Biergarten show reverts to its normal format on May 27 with Joe Bartnick headlining.

APPLAUSE PLANNER – Plan On It

Wise Guys Comedy Show – Wednesday, May 12, Tavolino
There’s a good case to be made that this is the best overall show of the week – in fact, it’s probably not even that close – but as great as Jimmy Shubert is live, the Applause Planner can’t keep picking his shows every week. Three of South Florida’s funniest local comics – Matt Ross, Jackie Sanchez and Steve Lamm – are also performing, with show producer Dougie Almeida serving as host. Tickets are $35 and include salad, entree, dessert and a wine/beer at the upscale Coral Springs eatery. Seating begins at 7 p.m.

Haitian and Hilarious – Wednesday, May 12, Palm Beach Improv
South Florida boasts a large Haitian community, and this is the day to celebrate it. Haitian Flag Day is technically May 18, but that won’t stop this group of Haitian comics from getting after it. Performers include Applehead, Ridiculous Nick, FatAndFunny, Haitian Jonas, Haitian V, Pierre and Success JR. Tickets range in price from $30-$50.

Sunshine State Comedy – Wednesday, May 12, The Dubliner
Wednesday is a busy day of comedy this week. Gina Savage continues to produce quality showcases on Wednesday in Boca Raton. Lalo Rodriguez, Charly Esturilho, Avi Liberman, Anna Lepeley and Clyde Gordon are all scheduled to perform. And The Dubliner offers $5 whiskey shots.

Irish You Were Here – Thursday, May 13, Kelly Bros. Irish Pub
Yet another Wednesday show. This one allows fans to get their Irish on. Nik Macik hosts this event. Matt Carter, Jackie Sanchez, Tony Wellons, Anya Zova, Daniel Bergamini, Chris Renois, Pauly McPaulerson, JP Kauer and Fasil Malik are scheduled to perform. The free show begins at 8 p.m.

Drew Lynch, Thursday May 13-Sunday May 16, Palm Beach Improv
Known as the comic that stutters, Drew Lynch gained fame when he appeared on America’s Got Talent in 2015, finishing second. South Florida comedy fans have many opportunities to see Lynch in person this week. Beginning Thursday, he’s performing six shows over four days. Tickets are $25. And there is no better venue in which to enjoy a comedy show than the PB Improv.
