WEST PALM BEACH – The Jack is back.
Jackie Sanchez’s Jacked Up comedy show returns to the Palm Beach Improv on Wednesday for the first time this year.
“I am excited,” Sanchez said. “I would say I’m thrilled, but now that doesn’t sound like me. I’m happy to be putting people up again.”
Sanchez’s Jacked Up shows, the last of which at the PB Improv occurred in November, are known for bringing some of South Florida’s best comics to the iconic club. Wednesday’s show will be no different.
Matt Durndak headlines the night. Nadeem Awad and Jake Klark share feature comic duties. Kyle Dahl and Luis Gonzalez, relative newcomers to the South Florida comedy scene, are also scheduled to perform. Connie Fernandez will host.
Sanchez also promises a surprise or two for the night – including potentially taking the stage herself.
It’s great to see Sanchez producing shows again, and wonderful to note that she still has the cache to bring top local talent to her stages. Though at the moment this is the only Jacked Up show on the PB Improv calendar, Sanchez expressed interest in returning to a monthly schedule. That would certainly be beneficial to the South Florida comedy scene.
For now, though, it’s simply good to know there will be at least one more show – and it’s only a couple days away. Wednesday’s showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are a modest $10.

Dope City Comedy Tour – Palm Beach Improv, West Palm Beach
Matt Bellak and Tim Hanlon are back in town, and that’s awesome news for South Florida. Bellak and Hanlon now live in Austin, Tex., and have been touring nationally this summer. Now the duo is heading back to their roots. They are only performing once at the PB Improv, and this one is for night owls. The show starts at 9:45 p.m. and costs $20. It’s a super way to follow a dinner date.
