DELRAY BEACH – Like last week, the top comedy show in South Florida occurs at the Palm Beach Improv.

Unlike last week, when Ron White performed seven times, this week’s show offers more of a South Florida feel.

That’s because it’s produced by Jackie Sanchez, widely recognized as a one of South Florida’s top local comics.

This month’s Jacked Up comedy show is headlined by Irishman Sean Finnerty, and includes Jake Ricca, Sienna and Stephen Henry.

Finnerty has Florida roots – when he moved to the States from Ireland he landed in Orlando – but now resides in New York. His comedy continues to gain acclaim, highlighted by a 2019 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

He’s also performed as part of Comedy Central’s Up Next competition and was a semi-finalist in the 2014 Florida’s Funniest competition.

Sanchez serves as host on Wednesday, which is a nice bonus. The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Applause Planner – Plan On It

Comedy Showcase – Monday, July 26, Whistle Stop
Matt Bellak usually produces Whistle Stop shows on the first and third Monday of every month, but he moved this show back a week because he was on tour. He’s gathered a strong lineup that includes John Loveless, Stephanie Wood, Jeff Dolezal, Hennessy Williams, Phat Chopz and Rodney Badger. The free show begins at 8 p.m., and is a great way to start a comedy week.

Comedy Night – Monday, July 26, Tin Roof
It’s dueling comedy shows in South Palm Beach County on Monday. Kolin Bohannon, Roderick McDaniel, and Shannon Mugrage are being billed as a three-headed co-headliner, with Nik Macik hosting. The free show is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m., but often doesn’t get rolling until 9, so it’s certainly possible to hit the Whistle Stop first, then head to the Tin Roof for double the comedy.

Sunshine State Comedy – Wednesday, July 28, The Dubliner
Gina Savage and Johnny Azari are at it again. They’ve created another strong lineup for their weekly show at the Dubliner in Boca Raton. Drew Illa Perry Sak, Laura Levites, Matt Ross, Mike Panzeca and Azari are scheduled to perform. The free show begins at 8 p.m., and the $5 whiskey special is an attention-getter.

Josh Wolf – Thursday July 29-Saturday July 31
Josh Wolf is a comedian, actor and New York Times bestselling author who is likely best known for his work as a round-table guest and writer on E!’s Chelsea Lately and After Lately. Wolf appeared on Last Comic Standing in 2006, and has hosted Shark After Dark, and Naked and Afraid. He even had his own show on CMT. Wolf is performing five times over three days, with two shows apiece on Friday and Saturday. Thursday’s show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22.
