DELRAY BEACH – Mondays are on a roll.

Last week Applause Break noted that some of the best shows in recent weeks have been on Monday.

This week, it turns out, is no different,

Carl Rimi is headlining tonight’s show at the Tin Roof in Delray Beach. It’s somewhat of a return to the stage for Rimi.

As writer, co-director, producer and co-star of iPossessed, Rimi devoted nearly all his time over the past several months to pre-production, shooting and editing his movie.

Rimi jumped back on stage over the weekend, performing a few shows on Florida’s west coast. Now he’s back in South Florida and ready to perform again on Delray’s Atlantic Ave.

The Tin Roof recently expanded, turning the bar to its west into a side room. That should really benefit the Tin Roof’s comedy shows, which often had to battle audiences who arrived at the bar to hear a Motown band play happy hour and weren’t interested in stand-up comedy.

Tonight that room will be Rimi’s and the show, which begins at 8:30 p.m., remains free. It should be a good night.

Applause Planner – Plan On It

Sunshine State Comedy – Wednesday, June 30, The Dubliner
In what is quickly becoming a staple of any given week, the Sunshine State Comedy show once again highlights Wednesday’s offerings. Lalo Rodriguez, Dougie Almeida, Kevin Benoit, Sharon Pfeiffer, Steve Lamm and Johnny Azari are all scheduled to perform. The free show beings at 8 p.m., and select whiskeys are only $5.

The Waterfront Comedy Show – Thursday, July 1, Bradley’s Saloon
Carlos Miguel is returning comedy to one of West Palm Beach’s iconic bars. Miguel hosts the show, and heavy hitters like Nadeem Awad, Jackie Sanchez and Hennessy Williams pack some serious punch. Corey Cognac, Blake Woodrow and Giovani Neal are also scheduled to perform.

Mike Epps – Thursday July 1 – Saturday July 3, Palm Beach Improv
Epps is generating an extraordinary amount of buzz among his peers not only for his humor, but also for his burgeoning dramatic talent. Epps will return this summer in the Starz series “Survivor’s Remorse” produced LeBron James and Mike O’Malley which was picked up for a second season. At $50 ($65 for VIP) tickets are pricey, but Epps could be the highlight of the entire weekend. He’s performing once on Thursday and twice on both Friday and Saturday.
