BOCA RATON – Laughing Spree has it’s closer.

Organizers of the Laughing Spree comedy festival slated for Dec. 3-4 announced Andrew Schulz as the headliner for Saturday’s final comedy show.

Schulz joins Jim Norton and Bryan Callen as the headliners for the three shows held over two days at Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton.

“He’s a young guy and obviously has a big following down here in South Florida,” Laughing Spree co-producer Minda Long said of Schulz. “We’re excited to be able to close it out big.”

Schulz is currently one of the hottest comics in the business, with his YouTube stand-up clips amassing over 255 million views. His latest YouTube comedy special, The Crowd Work Special, has been viewed over 4 million times. Schulz’s debut comedy album 551 was No. 1 on Billboard, Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon Music.

Laughing Spree also added comic, actress and writer Leah Lamarr to its Saturday night lineup. Yamaneika Saunders, Jeff Dye and Bret Ernst are among the other national stars scheduled to perform at the festival.

The festival also boasts home-grown talent that began their careers in Florida and have gone on to achieve national success, such as Orlando Leyba, Sean Grant, Cam Bertrand and Vince Taylor. In all, some 20 comics are expected to perform during the event.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this much talent to one stage,” festival co-producer Warren Kirschbaum said.

With the addition of Schulz and Lemarr, the comedic line-up is pretty much set – although Long wouldn’t rule out a late addition or two.

“There could be a November surprise,” Long said.

Tickets for Laughing Spree Fest are already on sale. They start at $65 for one show, with a weekend pass going for $165. The Festival also offers VIP packages tat include front row seating, fast-track access to events and a dedicated VIP hospitality area.

Laughing Spree will hold three comedy shows – one on Friday, Dec. 3 and two the following day. Callen will headline Friday night’s show. Norton headlines the Saturday early show.

“Now that people can get a picture of the entire lineup from beginning to end, from Friday through Saturday night, it’s really giving people a lot of reason to move,” Long said.

Laughing Spree Fest plans to operate at 50% reduced venue capacity, with COVID precautions in place to keep festival attendees safe.

“This is a reduced capacity venue so, unfortunately, we have to limit the tickets,” Long said. “So it’s not going to be something you can wait until the week of to purchase tickets. They are going to be sold out by then, for sure.”

In addition to live comedy and music performances, the event experience includes four “villages” dedicated to different themes and attractions. There will be an Art Village with local artists and craftsman displaying their work and creating live art. The Community Village is dedicated to non-profit & community organizations. Also on-site will be a Food Truck Village and an Extreme Fun Village with a specialty bar, alternative performers and other attractions.
