DELRAY BEACH – The Machine is coming to life.

Few comedy bits over the past decade are better known than Bert Kreischer’s “I Am The Machine.” The bit details a college trip to Russia where he doesn’t speak the language but still manages to befriend Russian mobsters and reign chaos.

The bit is so good, Sony Pictures decided to make a movie based on the routine. Sony finally announced a May 26 release date for “The Machine.”

The movie is more of an addendum to Kreischer’s original routine than a re-telling.

In the film, Kreischer some two-decades older than the college-aged student who made the original trip, reunites with alcoholic Russian mobster (played by Iva Babić), who comes back into his life to kidnap Kreischer and make him pay for his past deeds.”

“The Machine” is an early entrant into the summer comedy blockbuster discussion. Grab a bottle of vodka and get ready for some fun.

The remainder of today’s rundown has a distinct road feel. There are two stories about comic’s planning tours – Bill Cosby (yes, that Bill Cosby) and Kevin James. There’s also a review of a recent Louis C.K. performance in San Francisco.

Keep it funny, folks.

A review of disgraced comedian Louis C.K.’s sold-out San Francisco show

Stand-Up Rundown Jan. 8 2023For a brief moment when Louis C.K. first walked onto the stage at San Francisco’s Masonic Auditorium on Wednesday night, he looked to me like a man who knew he did something wrong. After a split second, in which he seemed to nervously brace himself for a heckler, his face curled into a smile. Then the sold-out crowd rose into a standing ovation, as if to say they forgave him for his history of masturbating in front of young female comedians without their consent.
