FORT LAUDERDALE – The Rat is back – and ready to pack the house.
On Thursday comedian and podcaster Theo Von – AKA the Rat King – brings his southern-styled humor to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino as part of his Return of the Rat Tour.
Late in 2021 Von released his second Netflix special, “Regular People,” but he might be better known for his podcasting skill. A frequent guest on some of the nation’s most popular podcasts, including “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Von also successfully hosts two podcast of his own: “This Past Weekend” and “King and the Sting.” His YouTube channel has more than one million subscribers.
Von’s resume also includes many television appearances – both late night talk show and prime time entertainment shows – along with multiple writing credits.
A story teller with southern charm, Von’s sets often include amusing, relatable anecdotes from his rural Louisiana upbringing.
Ticket prices for Thursday’s 8 p.m. show range from $45-$95. As of Monday afternoon, seats were still available.

Al Ernst – Tim Finnegan’s, Delray Beach
Two-time Carnival Cruise Lines Comedian of the Year Al Ernst will perform several times in South Florida this week. This is the recommended show. Sadman Comedy Productions has produced several shows at Tim Finnegan’s, all with positive results. For an Irish pub, the layout really lends itself to comedy. SCP’s goal is to produce a monthly show at the venue. Local favorite Nadeem Awad will co-feature the show along with Dan Long. Producer David Sadman serves as host. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $20.

Comedy Game Show – Lilo’s Library, Lake Worth
Comedy Game Show offers something a little different. The interactive show features a piano bar entertainer, a “Whose Line Is It Anyway”-type improv comedy game show, and some of the most recognizable stand-up comedians in South Florida. Tone Tata, Anthony Francis, Nadeem Awad, Abby Ballin, Drew Illa, Charlie Esturilho, Patrick Price, Renald Previl and Brian Sutorios are all scheduled to either perform stand-up sets or take part in the game show portion. The free show begins at 9 p.m.

Nick Souffrant – Dania Improv, Dania Beach
Nick Souffrant will be recording this show for his upcoming comedy special “Outta Pocket.” Souffrant has been performing stand-up since 2010 and has often hosted and featured shows at the Improv’s in South Florida. His style of comedy has been described as “ridiculous.” “Outta Pocket” will be Souffrant’s second comedy special. His first, “Part Time Dad” was featured on comedian Steve Harvey’s “Stand Up Spotlight.” Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $20, $30 for VIP.
