South Florida comics have done plenty of the former. They’re not all ready to embrace the latter.
Monday, September 27, 2021 is National Day of Forgiveness, and these guys have plenty to say about it. In the above video Tim Hanlon, Nik Macik, Dan Long and John Loveless all give their thoughts on what National Day Of Forgiveness means to them.
We even here from former President Donald Trump, as channeled by Josh Rosen. That’s pretty bigly, if you ask us.
Melissa Reese, AKA the Pursuit Guru, founded National Day of Forgiveness. This year is the first time it’s being celebrated.
Forgiveness has plenty of benefits. To begin with, it relieves stress generated by anger, resentment, and bitterness. The act of forgiveness can close a wound. Forgiving also allows people to put the past behind them. Reduced anxiety and stress that comes from forgiveness can translate into lower blood pressure, a stronger heart, and an improved immune system. It may also help reduce physical pain.
How should people celebrate National Day of Forgiveness? The National Day Calendar has some suggestions.
Of course, forgiving someone – even if it’s yourself – is a good start. For Catholics, this might be a good day to stop by the church and offer their confession. There are also plenty of books about the power of forgiveness. Maybe pick one up.
