“Self Isolated” is standing out in a crowd,

South Florida comedian Chad Ridgely’s film about life during the pandemic kicked off the Palm Beach Film Festival in Wellington on Wednesday as the first feature film of gala.

Prior to its screening, organizers presented Ridgely with a plaque honoring him as the festival’s Outstanding Director in a Feature Film.

“That made me feel great,” Ridgely said. “It was very validating to have folks recognize the hard work and dedication that goes into making a feature – all the blood, sweat and tears.”

After receiving the award Ridgely headed to Miami, Okla., where “Self Isolated” participated in the sixth-annual Sunny Side Up Film Festival.

Sunny Side Up named “Self Isolated” its best feature film, and it also won the Best Film Plot Twist award for the part where, well, you’ll just have to see the film to figure that part out.

Self Isolated’s Maggi Mayfield earned the festival’s Best Actress Award, while Doug Burch claimed the Best Supporting Actor nod.

“We’re going to keep running the festival circuit for another few months,” Ridgely said.

Ridgely premiered “Self Isolated” at the Movies of Delray in November of 2021.

The Adrian International Film Festival, held in Adrian, Mich. on April 21-22, is up next for “Self Isolated.”

Ridgely said several distributors have expressed interest in bringing “Self Isolated” to streaming services.

“It will definitely be on Amazon,” Ridgely said. “Netflix would be wonderful.”
