DELRAY BEACH – Andrew Dice Clay is one of the most polarizing stand-up comedians in the industry.

He burst to national recognition with a routine loaded with misogyny and blue material. And most any fan of comedy can recite at least one of his dirty nursery rhymes. Clay has long insisted he played a character on stage and those jokes didn’t represent his true persona.

Clay’s been performing for 45 years, with South Florida comedy venues serving as regular stops on his tours. He’s back again on Friday, performing at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. The show is listed a sell out, so hopefully comedy fans who love the Diceman already have their seats.

Yesterday’s Stand-Up Spotlight included the sad news of Richard Belzer’s passing. There’s a story in today’s spotlight that offers reactions and remembrances from fellow stand-up comedians. There’s also news about the movie “Cannibal Comedian,” a horror film in which a psychopathic cannibal gives stand-up comedy a shot. Local comedian Chad Ridgely is almost certainly upset he didn’t come up with this idea.
