Louis C. K. did what he pledged to do. He disappeared.

For a little while, anyway.

Named in the #MeToo scandal, Louis C.K. admitted what he’d done and left the public eye.

That disappearing act, however, didn’t last as long as many thought it would. Not a decade. Not even five years.

Now there’s a documentary delving into Louis C. K.’s fall and return. “Sorry/Not Sorry” examines Louis C.K.’s return to the public eye, as well as the movement that led to his exile.

How many lessons can be learned? That remains to be determined.

Today’s Stand-Up Spotlight also looks into Jeremy Pivens’ return to stand-up; Ali Wong’s history with stand-up comedy; and a bizarre story about how Joe Rogan’s good looks almost broke up the marriage of a couple he’s never met.

Be the funny you want to see.

Far from denying the accusations that he masturbated in front of women without their consent, C.K. released a lengthy statement that stated, “These stories are true.” The statement ended with the comedian — who had already lost his prominent berth at the FX network — promising to take a “step back” from the public spotlight.
