Aside from knowing that Donald Trump’s current trial alleges accounting voodoo, most don’t understand exactly what he’s done wrong.

And, because there’s plenty of math involved, most really care.

For those who are interested but lack an accounting background, today’s Stand-Up Spotlight is here to help.

The lead story offers two accountants-turned-comedians explaining the basics of the charges. Hard to believe any accounting degree could be more entertaining.

There’s also news about new projects for comedians Chris Rock and Nate Bargatze, and a story detailing why Roy Wood Jr. is leaving The Daily Show.

Funny Tuesdays make the week go faster.

Trying to follow the Trump Organization civil fraud trial but don’t understand all the quacking about “GAAP, GAAP, GAAP” — those wonky, “generally accepted accounting principles” at the heart of the trial?

Don’t feel bad: You’re not alone. Even lead defendants Donald Trump and his eldest son, Donald Trump, Jr., struggle to explain GAAP, with the elder Trump dodging responsibility and the younger shrugging that they are, well, “generally accepted.”
