Tonight’s Republican party presidential debate won’t include Tracy Morgan.

Maybe it should – even if he isn’t a Republican.

In a recent interview with Desert Run, the comedian quickly answered a question about his future plans by saying he wanted to be president.

“If Trump could do it, I can do it.” Morgan said.

Immigration reform would rank high on his presidential to-do list.

“We don’t have any more space in (New York) and rent is just too damn high,” Morgan said.

We’re not sure that Morgan – or any comedian, for that matter – would make for a good president, but could he do much worse than recent politicians? At least he’d be entertaining.

Today’s Stand-Up Spotlight contains news of a new Golden Globes award category for stand-up comedy; a review of Gary Gulman’s book, “Misfits;” and an upcoming comedy festival on Long Island.

Funny comes in all forms. Embrace it.

Comedian Tracy Morgan says ahead of Morongo Casino show that he’d run for president

Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan isn’t losing sleep over being out of work during the Hollywood strike.

When asked during a recent interview about the film industry grinding to a halt and not working since July, the “Saturday Night Live” alum referenced the 2014 car crash that could have killed him. The limousine van he was riding in was hit by a tractor-trailer truck owned by Walmart, which ended with him receiving an undisclosed multimillion-dollar settlement from the company.

Comedian Gary Gulman Wants You to Learn From His Mortifying Childhood

While most of us have hazy memories of kindergarten, Gulman’s are somehow in crisp focus. As years pass and lunch boxes and school bus drivers become wall-lockers and shopping malls, the author recreates the intensity of those lonely, befuddled days, giving readers grace for their own baffled adolescence. Everyone has been there.
