DELRAY BEACH – Is Adam Carolla still a practicing comedian?
As part of his “Adam Carolla is Unprepared” tour Carolla takes the stage with no idea what he’s going to say.
While that may not be completely true – Carolla surely has a set of bits he can fall back on, or punchlines that can fit multiple topics – Carolla simply grabs the mic and starts riffing. He invites audiences to choose the topics he’ll discuss.
On the one hand, it takes a quick mind to be able to conjure entertainment on a nightly basis. But is the audience really getting what it’s expecting when it sees a Carrola show?
Today’s Stand-Up spotlight also has Adam Sandler looking back on his early days of stand-up comedy performances; news of specials from Sara Silverman and Lizzy Hoo; and look inside the Sioux Falls, South Dakaota, comedy scene.
Here’s to an happy (and funny) Easter!

Adam Carolla Is No Longer Bothering to Write Jokes
Well, Adam Carolla superfans, you can’t say your favorite comic didn’t warn you. He has dubbed his new tour “Adam Carolla is Unprepared” and it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds likes — the comic putting a stranglehold on the microphone and freestyle riffing for an hour and a half. Sure beats writing material!
Carolla, revealed as Avocado last year on The Masked Singer, “has agreed to come on stage with no idea of what he is going to say,” according to his website. “Instead, the audience will supply ideas for Adam to spin into comedy gold right on the spot.”
