Al Ernst returns to South Florida to headline the first-ever comedy show at the Hyatt Place in Delray Beach.

DELRAY BEACH – Fresh off a couple of strong South Florida shows last month, Al Ernst is about to make his return to the area.

And he’s going to do so in a room that’s not only new to him but also new to comedy shows overall.

Ernst will be the first comic to headline producer Fasil Malik’s new venue at Hyatt Place in downtown Delray Beach. Part of Malik’s successful Spill The Beans series, this is the first of the shows to take place in Delray.

In late June Ernst headlined a tremendous show at Tim Finnegan’s in Delray Beach. Carnival Cruise Line’s two-time Entertainer of the Year, Ernst will take the stage on Thursday in preparation for a stand-up comedy he’ll record at the end of August.

The past few months have been a bit crazy for Ernst, as detailed in this story, but his career appears to be surging once again.

Malik will serve as the night’s feature comic, with Joe Nay hosting the show.

The Hyatt’s downtown location makes it easy to find a quick dinner before the show (Atlantic Ave. is only a couple blocks away) or maybe a few drinks afterward.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $20 in advance via Eventbrite, $25 at the door.

Fitz and Giggles – Fitz Bar, Fort Lauderdale
Here’s another bar that’s giving South Florida stand-up comedy a shot. Brian Coronado is producing this Fort Lauderdale show, headlined by Lisa Corrao. Nadeem Awad is the feature comic, with Coronado serving as host. Fitz Bar is a new hot spot in Fort Lauderdale. As a thank you to all his loyal locals, owner John Fitzgerald is offering this free show. With limited seating available, the venue expects to be packed. Showtime is 8 p.m.

FRIDAY, JULY 29, 2022

Malik is a busy man this week. Two days after Ernst’s show in Delray, Malik is producing another Spill The Beans show, this one in Broward County. Chris Flanagan is back on stage, headlining the show. Morgan Gallo and Aaron the Speaker are also scheduled to perform, with Lonnie Cox serving as host.
