DELRAY BEACH – Anyone who’s seen Nadeem Awad perform – and if you haven’t, what are you waiting for? – knows he’s drawn upon his American Muslim upbringing for comedic material.
One of Awad’s best traits as a comic is that he’s able to pull the humor from events that certainly couldn’t have been pleasant at the time.
Recently Awad added a new observation to his routine. Many comics now include bits about the current COVID-19 pandemic in their routines, but few have Awad’s perspective.
The above stand-up comedy video clip was recorded at the Palm Beach Improv in early December, 2020 when he featured for Jimmy Shubert. Awad’s 15-minute set drew multiple applause breaks.
For those unfamiliar with Awad, he’s been a stand-up comic for less than five years, with his first show coming at Delray Beach’s now-defunct Grand Tavern.
He quickly blossomed into one of the top comics in South Florida, performing all across the state. Awad’s reputation within the business continued to grow even without much YouTube exposure. The above stand-up comedy video is one of the few that can be found on the net.

He’s also enjoyed success as a promoter, working with David Sadman of Sadman Comedy Productions to bring comedy shows to South Florida long before much of the nation re-opened their venues during following the lockdown.
