BOCA RATON – Comic Bruce Smirnoff has a knack for noticing the humor in every day situations, then turning those situations into relatable humorous tales.
Take blind dates. Smirnoff has been on a few, and is perfectly fine with never going on another.
In the above stand-up comedy video, Smirnoff details one such blind date. It’s easy to see why Smirnoff isn’t interested on going on another.
A veteran of the Los Angeles comedy scene, Smirnoff gave this performance in early 2021 at the grand opening of the Sadman Comedy Speakeasy Lounge, located above Arturo’s Ristorante in Boca Raton, Fla.
Smirnoff had been performing on cruise ships prior to the pandemic. The COVID-19 shutdown of those cruise ships prompted Smirnoff’s retirement from the stage.
Now living in South Florida, Smirnoff came out of retirement for the grand opening of the Sadman Speakeasy, and continued to perform on successive shows.

Despite the performances Smirnoff insists he is still retired, but he can frequently be found attending South Florida comedy shows and mentoring young comics.
