DELRAY BEACH – It’s cooking provides one of the world’s most intoxicating aromas.

It’s taste satisfies the soul.

So it only makes sense that there would be at least one day every year that celebrates bacon.

That day is today. December 30, 2021 is National Bacon Day. How delicious.

Bacon is the king – and arguably the most American – of the breakfast meats. Today is the day to celebrate. South Florida comics are on board. David Sadman, Tim Hanlon, Phil Isme, Nadeem Awad and Josh Rosen provided their insights into Bacon Day to Applause Break for the creation of the funny video located above. Rosen did so by channeling his inner Barack Obama.

Surprisingly, not all of the comics sang the praises of bacon.

According to National Day Calendar, more than half of the U.S. population said they used a pound or more of bacon in 2020. Bacon also lends its scent or flavor to popcorn, soap, candles, air fresheners, and more.

National Bacon Day is relatively new. Danya “D” Goodman and Meff “Human Cannonball” Leonard created National Bacon Day in 1997.

How to celebrate National Bacon Day? Well, it starts with eating bacon. At Applause Break, our goal is to enjoy bacon with every meal today. We’re also willing to spend a little more money today to try some of those fancy bacons. And it’s never the wrong time of the year to send bacon as a gift.

When eating your bacon today, be sure to post photos to your social media account using the hashtag #BaconDay.

It’s a great day to be an American.
